Hunter home

Well as you all know Hunter has graduated from Parris Island on October 21, 2011 and then came home for 10 fantastic days.  During those 10 days his new baby sisiter Haylee was born.  She was born October 24,2011 at 5:54am weighting in at 8lbs 7oz.  Hunter left for Camp Geiger on October 31,2011 to start school for 59 days.  Once he got there he found out that training wasn't starting for two weeks which was good cause he could come home for Thanksgiving.  Well got him back to Camp after Thanksgiving thanks to my brother.  This past week he was out in the field for training and we talked to him last night and he said he loved it. Shooting guns and missles out in the woods is something he loves.  Well Hunter will be home on December 21,2011 around 7p for 10days for Christmas.  As for all of us we are doing great.  Thanks for all your prayers.

Family Day Parris Island October 20, 2011

 
 Here are some pictures from today that the family has sent to me so I thought you all my like to see Hunter.  Should have more later and will def post.  Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers during this 13 weeks.  I can't wait to see him tomorrow 10-21-11 when he gets home.

Hunter's 11th letter

1st of all Hunter wants to thank everyone for the love support, prayers and letters he has gotten through this new adventure.  He has been playing in the woods the last week and is having a ball.  That is our Hunter from the time we would let him play in the woods he has done that.  Well the end of next week will be the hardest yet.  It is crucible time which is 54 hours awake 48 mile march and little rashen.  Hunter will need all your prayer then.  We may get a phone call on the 12th if we are lucky don't have alot of details will keep everyone in the loop.  Some bad news he didn't get recruiters assistance like we thought but that is ok he still can come home for 10 days and then again for Christmas:)  If you are planing to go to family day or graduation please please give either me or Brad a call they sent info about those days and the dos and don't to get on base which everyone will need to know.  He says he can't wait to see everyone.  Well I guess that will be all for now problably no letter next week maybe a phone call will keep you informed.

Hunter's 10th letter

43 Training Days have gone he said it is hectic with new things going on.  He went to the rifle range and qualified with a 198 not very good but he said he did qualifie and can do better next year.  He starts interior guard which he has a 4 hour shift at night.  On Sat 23rd they have a CO Commanders inspection which they have to be perfect.  This next week coming up is Admin week which is all paper work then it will be the crucible week.  What crucible is is a 54 hour test with 40 mile run, little food, and no sleep.  Then he said it will be Marine week then coming home.  He did get the job here for 30 days recruiter assistance which he will be around for 30 days.  Well that it is for this letter thanks to Grant he got the letter about crucible week.  Thanks for sharing your letter with us.

Hunter's 9th letter

Just got a letter this morning from Hunter.  He is in good spirits.  He wrote this letter last Monday but couldn't mail it until this Tuesday.  He said he is on fire watch last week.  He thought after he grew up he wouldn't be accident prone anymore well surprise surprise surprise, he cut his finger open and got 5 stitches he said no big deal Uncle Sam paid the bill.  That's good not mom and dad anymore.  He had a phyical fitness test on Sat. he did 11 pullup, 122 crunches and ran 3 miles in 21:01.  He says he loves to run now.  He is now 1/2 way done with bootcamp he can't believe it.  A couple of weeks a go Hunter's dad sent him a Wendy's hamburger wrapper cause he said he missed those burgers well he thought that was a whoot.  Hopefully we will get another letter soon.  Thanks to all for letters to Hunter, prayers, and all your support.

8th letter

Well got a short letter from Hunter today.  He had a 7 mile hump to the rifle range the other day he said alot of the guys fell out due to dehydration.  Can't wait to be able to eat real food.  In his last letter he was getting ready to take a knowledge test well he made a B on the test.  This past week he was in classroom learning about his rifle.  Next week he will learn to shot it.  We are on the down hill from here Monday will start the 8th week.  Please keep the letters coming that keeps him going.  Well until the next letter.

7th letter

Oh well we just received another letter.  This letter was very short but still glad to hear from him.  Hunter said his favorite part so far is the obstical courses  he also passed his swim qualifying with flying colors.  He also has a big test about knowledege that he must pass.  I know he will do fine.  This is his 6th week so he gets to repell and do gas chamber this week.  Keep him in your prayers.  Until next time.

Hunter's 6th Letter

Hey guys just got a letter from Hunter getting lots busier so his letters to us will be short , but he still loves getting everyones letters.  His letter was very short so can't wait till next letter.  Keep prayers going and letter too.  Love you all

4 and 5th letters

He has that the sand fleas are terrible especially during his pt.  He has lost 10lb in 3 week but feels great hope he doesn't lose much more.  He said his favorite chow is burgers on Saturdays and the the least favorite is the meatloaf it is so nasty.  He likes doing his drills but some of the other guys just can't get it so they get in trouble alot.  Now what he doesn't like is how fast they have to eat which is much faster than he is use to if you can believe he didn't eat fast enough.  He is really missing a good old Wendy's burger thinks about one about every other day.  He can't wait for family day he has a make shift calendar to count down the days.  When he wrote the letter it was 58 days, family day is Oct 20th.  He really gets happy when he gets letters do please keep them coming.  Well I guess that is all for now he said GOOD NIGHT LOVE YOU ALL

Hunter's 3rd letter

Just got a new letter from Hunter he wants us to tell everyone hello for him and all is well.  His platoon are still learning all their drills.He said that this is his favorite part of the day learning drills.  Hunter has decided to change his MOS to infentry and also has decided to take online classed for a dregree don't know in what yet but he has officer I guess it is like an advisor to help him get on track for classes and going towards a degree.  He also said he would like to be a recruiter after he is done with infentry.  Well I guess that is all for now until the next letter.  Please keep him in your prayers and write.

Letter from Hunter

Just got a letter from Hunter he says he is doing good, but don't get him wrong it's not home.  They have days in the sand pit digging as a platoon as punishment.  The DI (drill instructor) asked him one day how he liked digging he told him "he liked it so much he would fill in his pool when he gets home, the DI just laughted.  He always knows when it is  Sat. the Instructores talk about church the next day.  Hunter said he get 3 meals, clothes on his back, 7 to 8 hours of sleep and gets paid, sounds alot like home to me.  HAHAHA.  I guess that is all for this letter will update soon I hope.

Hunter's old address no longer valid

Just to let you all know The address that was posted last week for Hunter is no longer a good address.  We have just found out that someone has sent Hunter something in a letter that we had asked NOT to be sent.  As a result his address has been changed and he may be having a rougher time then he should be.  Brad and I do have his new address but you will need to call us for the address or you may write to him bring us the letter unsealed and we will mail it for you.  I am sorry but I can't risk Hunter's safety while in bootcamp.

Hunter is at Paris Island

Just got Hunter's phone call it lasted a whole 15 sec.  We should receive a letter in about 10 day if I get the address sooner I will post it.  All we go to say was I Love You very quick no response except click.  Thanks to each and everyone one of you for all your support from his cookout, to coming out Sunday to see him off, to all the prayers, hugs, shoulders to cry on.  We are all Hunter, Hayden, Brad and myself are very blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.  I will close for now please keep us in your thoughts and prayers just think October 21, 2011 will be here before we know it.  I will post as soon as I get more news from Hunter:)

Hunter heading to Paris Island

Well Hunter just called his dad  to let him know he was getting on the bus in Columbia SC heading to the Island:)  Brad told him he didn't have to get on the bus we could come and get him well he said "I am going" .  I am so proud of him.  Well I guess the next blog my be with an address so all can write. 

Huneter Leaving to be our Marine

Well guys it is July 25,2011.  Hunter left for Paris Island yesterday, went to Columbia SC for the night and will be leaving there today at 10am.  Brad and I couldn't be anymore proud of him or love him anymore.  Yesterday was a tough one for us, not for Hunter I am sure since he is doing exactly what he has dreamed of for a long time.  On the way to the recruiters office Brad asked him how he picked the Marines since my dad was Army, Brad was Army, uncle Greg  Army and Uncle Brian Air Force.  Well he said years ago when Brad and I had Ladies 1st Fitness one summer I did a kids summer program to do the President Physical Fitness on the last day I got the Marines to show a movie.  I couldn't even tell you what it was about, Hunter said ever since he saw that movie he has wanted to be a Marine.  Well we cried off and on all day yesterday.   I guess I am little better today.  I know he will be fine, I just don't know about us.  Well will keep everyone updated when we get update.  We do know for sure that his graduation date is October 21,2011 famliy day will be the 20th.  Hunter doesn't have a minimum of tickets for graduation so all is welcome.  I will kinda hear from him tonight  for about 3 mins not long enough.  So I will have a new update anytime I hear from him.  I will also make sure I post his address so anyone can send him love from home.
